Mechanism of action
| It suppresses pituitary ovarian axis and reduces the release of FSH and LH. It also has weak androgenic activity causing endometrial atrophy. It causes the disappearance of nodularity with pain relief in fibrocystic breast disease. In endometriosis, danazol causes return of ovulation 30-90 days after stopping the drug. |
