Mechanism of action
| The primary site of action of thiazide diuretics is the distal convoluted tubule. At this site, inhibition of NaCl transport is caused, leading to diuresis. Thiazide diuretics inhibit the Na+Cl- transport, perhaps by competing for the Cl- binding site. |
