Mechanism of action
| Benzodiazepines when administered cause sedation, hypnosis, muscle relaxation, relieve anxiety and some have anticonvulsant action. Benzodiazepines exert their pharmacological effects mainly by potentiation of neural inhibition in CNS which is mediated by GABA. |
